Step-by-Step
Walkthrough
1.
Meet Zane & Enter The Pit
After finishing Wrath of the Ripper
Queen, speak with Zane. He hints that “Sophia” will be the key to
breaking the siege. Before you descend, take the optional step to chat with
Moxxi for some lighthearted dialogue.
Enter The Pit with Zane to learn Sophia’s true nature. Spoiler: she isn’t a weapon—she’s a massive Thresher with a devastating digging ability.
2.
Release Sophia & Collect Sophia’s Toy
Free Sophia and grab Sophia’s Toy, an item that lets you direct her attacks. Wherever you place the toy, Sophia erupts from the ground, obliterating everything nearby.
3.
First Catapult Encounter
Use double jumps and grapple points
to reach the first catapult battleground.
- Clear all Rippers before you can interact with the
catapult.
- A named enemy, Catapult Master Andersen, awaits.
Despite his “Immovable” perk, he’s not too dangerous.
- After clearing the area, climb to the catapult and place Sophia’s Toy. Watch her demolish the machine.
4.
Second Catapult Encounter
Grab Sophia’s Toy again and push
toward the next catapult.
- Expect another wave of Rippers, including Catapult
Master Andersun (yes, another weak mini-boss).
- Look for an Electi Safe in a nearby building for
bonus loot.
- Repeat the process: clear enemies, climb, and place Sophia’s Toy to destroy the siege weapon.
5.
Final Catapult with Shield
This time, the catapult is shielded.
To disable it:
- Follow the quest marker to a nearby building.
- Fight through tougher enemies, including Zerkers and
Meatheads.
- Climb platforms and ladders to reach the top and flip
the switch.
The shield drops, but the fight intensifies: Invisible Catapult Master Andersen makes a return. He can be tracked by spotting the shimmer around him or targeting the Invisibility Orb nearby. Defeat him, place Sophia’s Toy, and finish the last catapult.
6.
Carcadia City & Captain Kuzma
Head into Carcadia City, now
overrun by Rippers and Badass variants like ‘Melic Psychos and ‘Ragers.
- Clear your way to the City Square.
- Prepare for a tough boss fight against Captain Kuzma.
His barrier forces you to use the Grapple to pull it off before damaging
him directly.
Once Kuzma falls, the city begins to stabilize—but not without a tragic cutscene that shifts the tone of the mission.
7.
Leaders Chamber & Rewards
After the battle, head to the Leaders Chamber. You can complete the optional objective by talking to Zane for a bit of comic relief. Then meet Levaine, wrap up the quest, and collect your rewards.
Siege
and Destroy Rewards
- XP
- Cash
- Eridium
- Assault Rifle
- Gnarly Gnashing Gear ECHO-4 Paintjob
The Siege and Destroy mission in
Borderlands 4 is both chaotic and heartfelt, blending classic BL humor with
large-scale battles and emotional stakes. Using Sophia to wipe out catapults is
as entertaining as it is effective, and the quest sets up even more
story-driven content ahead.
If you loved seeing Zane and Moxxi again, this mission delivers exactly the right amount of fan service with plenty of action.
