The Grammy Awards 2026 are shaping up to be one for the history books, with major milestones from Steven Spielberg and Kendrick Lamar stealing the spotlight.
On February 1, 2026, Steven Spielberg officially completed one of the rarest feats in entertainment — the EGOT. With his latest Grammy win, his name now stands proudly across the Emmys, Grammys, Oscars, and Tonys.

Spielberg earned the Grammy for Best Music Film for Music by John Williams, where he was credited as a producer. The win came during the Sunday ceremony in Los Angeles, though the 79-year-old filmmaker was not in attendance.
With this achievement, Spielberg joins an elite group of EGOT winners that includes Mel Brooks, Whoopi Goldberg, Viola Davis, John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Elton John, and others. Only 21 people in history have reached this milestone, making the moment especially significant.
Meanwhile, another historic chapter was written by Kendrick Lamar at the same ceremony. His night at the Peacock Theater turned extraordinary as he claimed four major wins.
Kendrick took home Best Rap Album for GNX, Best Rap Song for tv off, Best Melodic Rap Performance for luther alongside SZA, and Best Rap Performance for his feature on Chains & Whips. With these wins, he officially became the most awarded rapper in Grammy history.
The record previously belonged to Jay-Z, who holds 25 Grammy wins. Kendrick now leads with 26 awards, having entered the night with 22 and adding four more immediately.
Kendrick Lamar and Jay-Z have shared musical history before, having collaborated on the 2013 remix of B**h, Don’t Kill My Vibe*, making this record-breaking moment even more noteworthy.
