1) Firewerks – Legendary Shield
- Boss: Splashzone (Coastal Bonescape, Fadefields)
- Type: Torgue Shield
Why it’s great: Firewerks is arguably the best early-game shield in BL4. Its special perk launches homing missiles whenever an Armor segment breaks or when you kill an enemy. This passive damage clears out mobs quickly and makes early fights much easier.
Since Splashzone is a relatively quick and easy fight, farming this shield takes little effort.
2) Aegon’s Dream – Legendary Assault Rifle
- Boss: Horace (The Howl, Fadefields)
- Type: Vladof Assault Rifle
Why it’s great: Aegon’s Dream fires both Incendiary and Cryo projectiles, letting you stack status effects with ease. This makes it extremely useful against tougher enemies early on.
However, being a Vladof rifle, it burns through ammo fast. Upgrading your SDU capacity is highly recommended if you plan to use this weapon regularly.
3) Pacemaker – Legendary Repkit

- Type: Repkit
Why it’s great: Unlike other gear on this list, Pacemaker is a Repkit that provides on-demand healing along with passive health regeneration. It’s a life-saver when facing higher-level enemies in early areas.
The best part? Since Pacemaker also drops from Horace, you can farm both Aegon’s Dream and Pacemaker at the same time.
4) Jelly – Legendary Grenade
- Boss: Splashzone (Coastal Bonescape, Fadefields)
- Type: Grenade Mod
Why it’s great: Jelly is a devastating grenade with a Self-Replicating perk. Every bounce creates additional copies, causing massive AoE damage. When paired with Firewerks, you’ll be wiping entire rooms with missiles and grenade spam.
