Borderlands 4’s Most Overpowered Rafa Build Just Got Even Better

Borderlands 4 just got even wilder — one of its most overpowered Rafa builds has been updated, and it’s somehow even stronger than before. This particular setup lets you shred enemies without ever pulling the trigger yourself. Instead, your trusty Peacekeeper Cannons take care of business, turning mobs into piles of loot in seconds.

Right after Borderlands 4 launched, the game’s most dedicated theorycrafters dove in headfirst, experimenting with every possible skill and weapon combo. With so many unique weapon effects in the mix, it’s no surprise that players discovered some ridiculously overpowered builds. To their credit, Gearbox has done a solid job balancing things — tweaking builds only when absolutely necessary instead of nerfing just for the sake of it.

Rafa’s AFK Build Gets a Major Upgrade

One of the biggest discoveries early on came from YouTuber Moxsy, who showcased a broken Rafa setup that used ricochet damage to chain elemental effects between enemies using the Peacebreaker Cannons. Now, Moxsy’s taken that build to the next level. The update adds the Mixologist affix to their Enhancement, which folds in damage from their Maliwan shotgun into every cannon shot. If you manage to grab a shotgun with the Beam Tosser alt-fire mode (which hits like a truck), you’re in for some seriously explosive results.

But that’s not all — Moxsy also added the Transfuser affix to their Enhancement, letting active Status Effects spread to up to three nearby enemies. When combined with the Peacebreaker Cannon, it’s pure chaos in the best way possible. Moxsy even calls it the “fastest mob-clearing build” they’ve ever used and says it’s perfect for “efficiently farming Drill Sites really fast.”

Of course, as fun as it is to melt everything in sight, there’s always a risk when a build becomes too good. Gearbox has patched out broken setups before — just ask anyone who loved the now-nerfed Crit Knife build for Vex. There’s no guarantee this Rafa setup will face the same fate, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind before you invest too heavily.

For now, though? Enjoy the chaos while it lasts — this Rafa build is an absolute blast.
