known as Yakuza). Celebrating the series’ 20th anniversary, the showcase
featured new remakes, expansions, and ports that will keep Kazuma Kiryu’s
legacy alive for years to come.

Yakuza
Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Announced
One of the biggest surprises from
the event was the reveal of Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties. Originally
released in 2009 on the PS3, Yakuza 3 is getting the full Kiwami remake
treatment with rebuilt visuals and modern gameplay enhancements.
The remake introduces brand-new
features, including:
- Life Sim mode
– allowing players to immerse themselves in everyday activities.
- Gang Team Battle mode
– adding strategic combat with your crew.
Additionally, the Dark Ties
expansion brings all-new story content never seen before, expanding Kazuma
Kiryu’s journey.

Yakuza
0 Director’s Cut Goes Multiplatform
Another highlight of the showcase
was the confirmation that Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut is expanding beyond
its initial Nintendo Switch 2 release. Fans on PC, PlayStation 5, and
Xbox Series X/S will get to experience this iconic prequel on December
8, 2025.
The Director’s Cut comes with
exciting additions such as:
- New combat styles for both Kiryu and Majima.
- Red Light Raid online multiplayer mode for fresh competitive action.
- Additional story cutscenes expanding the lore.

Yakuza
Kiwami 1 & 2 Ports Announced
To complete the lineup, SEGA also
revealed that Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 are being ported
to modern platforms. These remakes of the original two entries were previously
only available on PS4 and Xbox One.
