How to Get the Apostate Key in Silksong

The Apostate Key is located in the Putrified Ducts region, but you can only access it after acquiring specific movement upgrades:

• Clawgrip
• Faybreak Cloak (Double Jump ability, unlocked in Mount Fay)

Once you have both, there are two main routes to reach the key.

Memorium Route

1. Start in the Songclave region and move toward the Cogwork Dancers boss fight.

2. Follow the path into the Memorium area.

3. Move right until you reach a bridge guarded by flying enemies.

4. At the far end, jump upward to access the Putrified Ducts.

5. Take the left tunnel—watch out for the enemy waiting there.

6. Defeat it and continue left until you find a cage.

7. Break the cage to claim the Apostate Key.

Bilewater Route

1. Start from the bench near Groal The Great’s arena.

2. Move left, crossing an area filled with spikes (Double Jump required).

3. Continue left and fight the enemy blocking your path.

4. Jump to the next platform and break the cage.

5. Collect the Key of Apostate.

How to Use the Apostate Key in Hollow Knight Silksong

Once you’ve obtained the Apostate Key, you can use it to unlock specific Apostate Locks in The Slab region.

1. First Apostate Lock – Slab Bellway

   • Go to the right side of the Bellway.

   • Use the key to unlock a shortcut.

   • Slide down to a chamber containing lore tablets.

   • Double Jump and Clawgrip upward to access another area with the Heretic Lock.

2. Second Apostate Lock – Near the Heretic Lock

• From the Heretic Lock, climb upwards following the Bench Sign.

• At the top, you’ll find another Apostate Lock.

• Unlock it to reach a puzzle area. Solving this puzzle rewards you with a Mask Shard.
