Ever since the second Minecraft
Live 2025, players have eagerly awaited new snapshots, betas, and
previews, hoping Mojang would drop exciting new content for the Mounts
of Mayhem update. Sadly, the Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.120.25 release
focuses mainly on bug fixes and performance improvements rather than
fresh features — but it still brings something valuable for server owners.
The highlight of this update is the
brand-new Realms Saves feature — a much-needed improvement for Realm
management and world backup safety. Alongside it, Mojang has resolved several
long-standing gameplay, graphical, and stability issues.

New Feature — Realms Saves Explained
The biggest addition in Minecraft
Bedrock 1.21.120.25 beta and preview is Realms Saves, a more
advanced and secure way to back up your server worlds. This feature enhances
the old backup system, allowing Realm owners to better manage their data and
recover worlds easily if something goes wrong.
Here’s how Realms Saves works:
- Automatic Saves:
- Triggered every 30 minutes or when a Realm shuts down.
- Retained for a limited time based on Mojang’s
retention policy.
- Do not count toward cloud storage limits.
- Enabled by default, converting all old backups
automatically.
- Manual Saves:
- Created manually by the Realm owner.
- Stored in your Realm’s dedicated cloud space.
- Not automatically deleted — owners can remove them to
free space.
- Realms Plus
includes 10GB, while Realms Core provides 5GB.
- Owners can also convert automatic saves into manual
ones for permanent storage.
These saves are accessible via the “Edit
Realm” settings or in-game through the Realm settings menu.
Note: The Realms Saves feature is rolling out gradually
to Preview players, so you might not see it immediately after installing the
update.
