Sentinel Temporarily Removed in Apex Legends (September 2025) – Here’s Why Respawn Vaulted the Sniper

Respawn Entertainment has temporarily removed the Sentinel sniper in Apex Legends after players discovered a serious bug tied to the weapon. The issue surfaced on September 19–20, 2025, forcing the developers to vault the sniper rifle across all playlists until a fix is ready.

Why Was the Sentinel Removed in Apex Legends?

The decision to disable the weapon came after reports of a game-breaking Sentinel bug in Apex Legends. According to multiple player accounts, picking up the sniper caused major gameplay issues, including:

·         Inability to shoot

·         Inability to aim down sights (ADS)

·         Movement restrictions, including sprinting problems

These issues severely impacted the gameplay experience, essentially locking players out of basic combat mechanics.

Temporary Workarounds Reported by Players

Some players mentioned that dropping and re-picking up the Sentinel occasionally restored functionality. Others claimed that reloading the weapon once could temporarily fix the bug. However, neither method proved consistent, which is why Respawn opted for a complete removal of the sniper until a hotfix patch is ready.

Respawn’s Response to the Sentinel Bug

Reports quickly spread on social platforms like Reddit and X (formerly Twitter). Once Respawn and EA became aware of the issue, they moved fast to vault the Sentinel in Apex Legends to maintain fair and stable gameplay.

The developers have confirmed that a hotfix update is in the works and will be rolled out in the coming weeks. Until then, the Sentinel sniper will remain disabled in all modes.

When Will the Sentinel Return in Apex Legends?

Respawn has not provided an exact timeline, but the Sentinel should return after the upcoming hotfix patch. Players can expect the rifle to be reinstated once the developers ensure the bug has been resolved.

While the Sentinel sniper being vaulted in Apex Legends is disappointing for fans of the weapon, Respawn’s quick response shows their commitment to game stability. Until the hotfix arrives, players will need to rely on other snipers like the Longbow or Charge Rifle.

We’ll update this article as soon as Respawn releases more information on the Sentinel’s return.
