Step 1: Tracking the Baron at the Monument
The mission begins with a cutscene involving
the Sheriff before Kyle heads to the Memorial
Hill of Heroes. Once there, you’ll find the Baron’s trail surrounded
by waves of infected.
·
Spitters
should be your first priority—one sits on a truck, another on the monument.
Take them out quickly.
·
Militia
zombies are armored, so strike from behind. Gas canisters and Molotovs
are effective crowd-control tools.
·
Once clear, loot the area. Important finds
include:
o A
strange device near the truck
o A loot crate with a rare shotgun, +3 ammo, MRE rations, a medium lockpick, and an empty gas canister
Step 2: Securing the Safe Zone
Olivia then instructs Kyle to secure a nearby Safe Zone.
·
Enter through a van leading to an open window.
·
Clear all infected inside and block the
entrances.
·
To restore power:
o Follow
the blue cable to a locked basement door.
o Climb
the vent to slip inside.
o Defeat
enemies and collect the fuse from the storeroom.
Install the fuse, flip the switch, and you’ll secure the Safe Zone. You can rest here or use the workbench for weapon repairs.
Step 3: Infiltrating the E&F Plant
The E&F
Plant is heavily guarded by the Baron’s men. A direct assault is
dangerous, so:
·
Approach from the left, climbing stacked
trailers.
·
Use the broken white pipe to enter through an upper
section.
Once inside:
·
Focus on rifle-wielding guards first.
·
A courtyard cutscene triggers a firefight—use
cover and fight strategically since human enemies can block attacks.
·
Loot the area for ammo, Old World money,
jewelry, and spare weapons.
Past the double doors, a scientist reveals a Chimera Infected escaped to the junkyard. You’ll need a gas canister to lure it.
Step 4: Finding the Gas Canister
Head to the plant’s basement via the vent. Use
Survivor Sense to find:
·
A gas canister under a table
·
Antibiotics on a nearby shelf
Grab the canister and move toward the
junkyard. Expect runners along the path; either fight or sprint through.
At the junkyard, place the canister into the device. Before activating it, you’ll face another ambush from the Baron’s soldiers. Use cover and clear them out before proceeding.
Step 5: Boss Fight – The Behemoth
Once the trap is activated, you’ll face the
Chimera Behemoth, a massive, mutated monster.
Boss
Fight Tips:
·
Dodge his car-throwing
attack and shockwave-inducing slams.
·
Stay mobile—never let him pin you.
·
Attack with melee (axe/sword) up close, but
switch to rifles for safer ranged damage.
·
The Behemoth summons weak Biter zombies during
the fight. Clear them quickly to avoid distractions.
·
As the fight progresses, he gains a triple
ground-pound move—time your dodges carefully.
Eventually, you’ll charge enough Beast Mode to land massive damage. Once his health drops low, a finisher prompt will appear. Kyle decapitates the Behemoth, secures a blood sample, and injects himself with a dose.
Step 6: Return to the Monastery
With the Chimera defeated, Kyle drives back to the Monastery to deliver the blood sample to Olivia, officially completing A New Strain.
The A
New Strain mission in Dying Light The Beast is a turning point in the
story, blending large-scale combat, stealth, puzzle-solving, and a cinematic
boss fight. With smart resource management and patience, you’ll come out with
great loot and progression rewards.
If you’re struggling, remember: prioritize Spitters early, save heavy weapons for the Behemoth, and always use Safe Zones for recovery.
