Stage 1: Search the Barn for Clues

Once you start the quest, Byron will lead you to a Barn where the investigation begins. Use your ECHO Device to highlight interactable objects in green. You’ll need to find four clues:

1. A scorched piece of metal on top of wood piles.

2. A weapon belonging to a Ripper’s victim on the nearby table.

3. A Ripper corpse next to that table.

4. A massive corpse near the Barn’s exit, next to a climbable ladder.

After collecting all clues, speak with Byron to move forward.

Stage 2: Locate Harper

Now it’s time to find Harper. Return to the table where you picked up the arm and blade, then interact with the radio to activate a grinder. Unfortunately, Harper is revealed hanging above it. After Byron’s dialogue, your next objective will be to activate the Kill Switch.

Stage 3: Activate Kill Switch & Destroy Coolant Regulators

Head up to the platform on your left and interact with the computer marked with a blue diamond. The Kill Switch attempt fails, which means you’ll now need to destroy the coolant regulators outside the Barn.

• Use your Grapple to open the glowing green doors.
• Inside, shoot the regulators until they’re destroyed.
• Do the same for the second regulator on the opposite side.

Stage 4: Release Harper & Examine the Body

Head back inside the Barn and shoot the hanging target to drop Harper’s body. After examining it, Byron notes the axe embedded isn’t Harper’s — it’s far too expensive. Finally, inspect the radio attached to Harper’s corpse to continue.

Stage 5: Defeat the Rippers

An ambush kicks off as waves of Rippers storm the Barn. Use your weapons and Vault Hunter powers to eliminate them. Depending on your difficulty setting, you might encounter a few Badass enemies, so stay mobile and kite them around if needed.

Stage 6: Head to the Tool Shop & Find the Cave

With the Rippers cleared, follow your quest marker east to the Tool Shop. Speak to the shop owner, who reveals a hidden cave behind a waterfall in Plungeford.

• Knock down the wooden boards concealing the cave entrance.
• The cave is located left of the waterfalls — easy to spot once you’re nearby.

Stage 7: Confront Zeke & Finish the Quest

Inside the cave, you’ll face Zeke, Harper’s killer. Zeke is aggressive and his gunfire can quickly drain your shields, but he isn’t overly tough. Defeat him to finish the fight.
