As per the Gem Esports report, MEITY has no given permission for the launch of PUBG Mobile in India. It was confirmed by the CPIO (Central Public Information Officer).
Based on the recent news on PUBG Mobile India, RTI (Right To Information) raised a query on that. The CPIO respond to this query and stated there is no permission from MIETY for PUBG re-launch as of 11th December.

On 2nd September, under the section 69A of IT Act the Indian Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology banned 118 apps which includes popular games PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite in second wave of Chinese apps ban.
Also, it has been more than one month the PUBG Corporation announced a new Indian version will be released soon in India. But, still there is no confirmation from the officials on the exact release date of the game.

No Permission from MIETY on PUBG Mobile re-launch in India
Few days back, there was a report which states there is no permission for PUBG Mobile India comeback. It also added that the officials of PUBG India had requested for a meeting with the Ministry.
According to the RTI recent query it was stated, "As of 11th December the PUBG Mobile has no permission for the MEITY for relaunch of PUBG in the country.
The RTI query was filed on 30th November 2020, and it states:
"Dear Sir/Mam In the month of September, 2020, Government of India with the consultation of your Department (MEITY) banned various Chinese apps. One of which was PUBG Mobile game. Now, there are many news which says that the game is being relaunched and the same is made specifically for the Indian Public and will not be harmful to the nation and its citizens. I would like to know if your department has given any such permissions to the game so that it can be re-launched."
The CIPO has responded to the query, and stated as follows:
"So, as of 11th December, MEITY has not given permission for the launch of PUBG. Again, it doesn't mean they won't, they just haven't done it so far."
