Mardaani 3 box office collection shows steady growth over its opening weekend, with the Rani Mukerji starrer closing Sunday at Rs. 16.75 crore nett. While the numbers are slightly lower than Mardaani 2, the film has benefited from a strong Sunday jump and low competition ahead.

Mardaani 3 may have opened slightly below expectations compared to its predecessor, but the film is still in a decent spot thanks to steady growth over the weekend and minimal competition ahead.

The film collected around Rs. 7 crore nett on Sunday, taking its opening weekend total to Rs. 16.75 crore nett. While the numbers are a little lower than Mardaani 2, which had earned Rs. 18 crore nett in its opening weekend, Mardaani 3 showed encouraging momentum—especially on its third day.

Strong Sunday Push Helps the Film

Starring Rani Mukerji, Mardaani 3 saw decent growth on Saturday and followed it up with a stronger Sunday jump of roughly 20 per cent. This kind of Sunday growth isn’t usually seen in films operating in this range, suggesting that the movie may have slightly more mass appeal than typical small or mid-scale urban multiplex releases.

Thanks to Sunday’s performance, the film is now in a better position than it was on Saturday. However, the real test begins now—holding well on Monday and maintaining stability through the weekdays will be crucial.

Lesser Competition Could Work in Its Favour

Although the weekend total is lower than Mardaani 2, and the first-week collections are also likely to fall short, Mardaani 3 has a key advantage: limited competition in its second and third weeks.

In contrast, Mardaani 2 had to deal with major releases like Dabangg 3 and Good Newwz during its later weeks. This time around, the quieter release window gives Mardaani 3 a chance to catch up and possibly even surpass the lifetime collections of its predecessor—provided weekday holds remain solid.

Controlled Budget Is a Big Plus

One major issue affecting many recent films is rising production costs. Movies that once cost X are now being made at 2X or even 3X budgets, making box-office recovery tougher.

Mardaani 3 fares better on this front. While its budget is double that of Mardaani 2, it’s still considered manageable, especially if audience reception stays positive. Strong non-theatrical recoveries and a respectable Friday opening have also helped keep things on track.
