Amazon MGM Studios has started a new AI Studio to help make movies and TV shows faster for Prime Video and theaters.
Even though many people are worried about using AI in filmmaking, Amazon believes this technology can help reduce costs and save time. Some people fear that AI may take away jobs, but Amazon says this is not their plan.
Using AI in Movie and TV Production
According to a Reuters report, a senior executive named Albert Cheng is leading this project. His team is creating AI tools that can help make the creative process easier and cheaper.
A testing program will start in March. Industry partners will be invited to try these tools. Amazon plans to share the results in May.
Albert Cheng said that making movies is very expensive and risky. Because of this, it is hard to try new ideas. He believes AI can help speed up work, but it cannot replace human creativity.
He also said these tools will help Prime Video handle large and complex film and TV projects better.
AI Will Not Replace People
Amazon clearly said that AI will not replace humans. It will only help them in their work.
Writers, directors, actors, and designers will still be involved in every step of production.
The AI Studio is working with well-known producers and artists like Robert Stromberg, Kunal Nayyar, and Colin Brady to test and improve these tools.
