Rumours about Salaar Part 2 being put on hold left fans of Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran disappointed. However, a new post from the makers now hints that the sequel is very much happening.
Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire turned out to be a massive success and emerged as the highest-grossing Telugu film of 2023. Riding high on that success, the team had already begun work on its sequel. But soon after reports surfaced claiming the second part had been stalled, fans were left confused.
Why Did Reports Say Salaar Part 2 Was Put on Hold?
Prabhas was last seen in the fantasy comedy The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi. Despite his huge fan base, the film didn’t perform well at the box office. Following this, a report by Deccan Chronicle claimed that Salaar Part 2 had been pushed to the back burner.
According to an insider quoted in the report, both director Prashanth Neel and Prabhas had decided to revamp the sequel. The source mentioned that what worked a few years ago might not connect with audiences now, and the project was being altered to suit changing viewer tastes. Naturally, this led to speculation and disappointment among fans.
Makers Drop a Hint — Salaar 2 Is Happening
Just when doubts were growing, the makers subtly put all speculation to rest. On Shruti Haasan’s birthday, the official Instagram handle of the film shared a picture featuring her and Prabhas. In the image, Shruti can be seen showing something on her phone to Prabhas.
With this post, the team indirectly confirmed that Salaar Part 2 is very much in progress, much to the relief of fans.

What’s Next for Salaar Part 2 and Prabhas?
By 2027, Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran are expected to reprise their roles in the tentatively titled Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam, as the power struggle in Khansaar continues.
On the work front, Prabhas also has Spirit, Kalki 2898 AD Part 2, and Fauzi lined up.
