Border 2 continues its strong box office run in India as the film completes its first week with impressive numbers. The Sunny Deol-led film crossed the ₹200 crore nett mark on Day 7, confirming its hit status and moving steadily towards a Super Hit verdict at the Indian box office.
As per early trends, Border 2 is expected to comfortably cross ₹300 crore net in its full theatrical run. If the film manages stronger weekday holds in the coming weeks, the final total could even stretch up to ₹325 crore net.
Strong First Week Performance
The film collected approximately ₹10.25 crore nett on Thursday, taking its first-week total to ₹206.25 crore nett at the Indian box office. With this, Border 2 crossed the important ₹200 crore nett milestone on its seventh day.
This achievement makes Border 2 the second ₹200 crore film for Sunny Deol, while it marks the first ₹200 crore grosser for co-leads Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty.
Weekend Boost and Republic Day Peak
The film opened well on Friday last week, but it truly found momentum over the weekend. Collections jumped significantly on Sunday, followed by a massive peak on the Republic Day holiday (Monday). That exceptional four-day run had initially hinted at even bigger box office possibilities.
However, collections saw a sharp correction from Tuesday onwards, with further drops on Wednesday. The decline on Thursday was slightly on the higher side but still closer to normal levels, registering a drop of around 15%.
Circuit-Wise Performance Breakdown
Unlike Gadar 2, which thrived heavily in mass pockets, Border 2 is more multiplex-driven, performing best in larger centres.
The film has shown its strongest performance in Northern circuits, especially:
- Delhi-UP
- East Punjab
- Rajasthan
These regions have traditionally been solid territory for Sunny Deol, and Border 2 continues that trend.
Mumbai started slow, improved over the weekend, but again dipped during the weekdays. Meanwhile, the Southern and Eastern circuits remain on the lower side, which is fairly normal for Deol-led films.
One area where the film underperformed is Gujarat. The circuit had delivered much stronger numbers for Gadar 2, but Border 2 couldn’t replicate that success there.
What’s Next at the Box Office?
Looking ahead, Border 2 enjoys a largely clear second week, as Mardaani 3 isn’t expected to pose much competition — especially in Northern circuits, where Border 2 continues to overperform.
The film is expected to hold steady on Friday, followed by growth over the weekend, further strengthening its box office standing.
At a time when films are either crossing ₹500 crore nett or struggling to even reach ₹300 crore, Border 2 stands out as a rare success in the ₹200–₹300 crore range.
Overall, the verdict is clear — Border 2 is a HIT and is well on its way to becoming a SUPER HIT.
