Event Banners and Free Character in Genshin Impact 6.2
According to the latest leaks, Jahoda, Gaming, and Chevreuse will be appearing on the Event Banners in Version 6.2. Players will also get the chance to choose a free copy of Sucrose, Razor, or Fischl after completing a new event.
The update won’t expand Teyvat’s map, but it’s still packed with fresh content — including:
- The next chapter of Song of the Welkin Moon,
- Durin’s Story Quest,
- The Witch’s Coursework,
- and a brand-new Flagship Event.
The Witch’s Coursework: Buffs for Mondstadt Characters
The standout feature of Version 6.2 has to be The Witch’s Coursework. This event lets players power up older Mondstadt characters, finally giving them some long-overdue love.
The quest will involve Lisa and Alice (Klee’s mom!) and will unlock quests that boost the following 5-Star and 4-Star characters:
- Mona
- Venti
- Klee
- Albedo
- Fischl
- Razor
- Sucrose
From this update onward, these characters will count as members of the Hexenzirkel, a group that now comes with special in-game synergy. When you team up two or more Hexenzirkel members, they’ll trigger unique buffs — a nice way to make older characters more viable again.
And the cherry on top? Completing The Witch’s Coursework gives you a free Sucrose, Razor, or Fischl to add (or refine) in your roster.

Meanwhile, Durin, Venti, Xilonen, and Varesa are also expected to appear on banners. Considering this patch marks Durin’s first playable appearance, it’s safe to assume he’ll headline the first half of Version 6.2.
It’s still unclear if there will be a Mondstadt Chronicled Banner, but with The Witch’s Coursework event tying everything to Mondstadt, this would be the perfect time to bring one back.
