Diablo 4 Season 10 Chaos Perks Guide: How to Unlock, Upgrade, and Use Them

Season 10 of Diablo 4 brings a brand-new system called Chaos Perks, and they’re shaking things up in a big way. These perks modify your existing skills with new effects and mechanics, letting you build your character in completely different ways.

Each Chaos Perk gives you powerful bonuses — like stronger damage or better defense — but they also come with trade-offs such as longer cooldowns, reduced defenses, or increased resource drain. In short: big risk, big reward.

You can mix and match up to three non-Unique Chaos Perks and one Unique Chaos Perk, allowing endless build variations and creative playstyles.

General (All-Class) Unique Chaos Perks

1. Chaos Unleashed

  • Killing an enemy gives 2 stacks of Chaos, while hitting a boss with direct damage gives 5 stacks.
  • At 100 stacks, you unleash 9 Chaotic Bursts, dealing 300–500% of your highest damage type.
  • These bursts also get +30% Critical Strike Chance and deal 100–200% increased damage.

2. Brawn Over Brains

  • Grants:

    • +100–200% Maximum Life
    • +50–100% Healing Received
    • +75–125% Overpower Damage
  • However, your Maximum Resistances drop by 25%, and damage reduction from Armor is capped at 60%.

3. A Beast Cornered

  • For every 10% Life you’re missing, you gain 10–20% increased damage and 5% damage reduction.
  • Spending Resources also drains 30% of that amount from your Life (refunding the Resources spent).
  • This effect won’t drop your health below 10%.

How to Unlock Chaos Perks in Diablo 4

You can unlock Chaos Perks by progressing through Season 10’s reputation system and defeating key bosses.

  • Magic, Rare, and Legendary Chaos Perks come from progressing the Season 10 reputation path.

    • You earn reputation by completing seasonal activities, Infernal Hordes, and Chaos Rifts.

  • Unique Chaos Perks are special and can only be unlocked by defeating Bartuc, Lord of Chaos, during Infernal Hordes on Torment I or higher.

At the end of each Infernal Horde, you can either face the Fell Council or take the tougher path to battle Bartuc. This fight is your only way to earn Unique Chaos Perks and Unique armor in Season 10.
(Guaranteed drops start from Torment 3 and 4.)

How to Upgrade Chaos Perks

Chaos Perks can be upgraded using Infernal Warps, a new Season 10 currency.

You can earn Infernal Warps from:

  • Infernal Hordes
  • Chaos Rifts inside Helltide events
  • Nightmare Dungeons

Upgrading a Chaos Perk boosts its secondary effects and stat values, improving both your damage and survivability. Prioritize upgrading perks that match your build’s playstyle — it’ll make a huge difference in endgame combat.
