A fresh leak has surfaced, giving players their first real look at Sobek City, one of the upcoming maps in Battlefield 6. The footage, uploaded to YouTube by ErsinFPS, reportedly comes from a dataminer who managed to launch an early build on a local server. Since this version hasn’t been tested in Battlefield Labs, much of what’s seen is unfinished and subject to change.
Sobek City – A Blend of Desert and Urban Warfare
Sobek City is set in Egypt, combining the vast openness of the desert with the intensity of a dense urban battlefield. The map is medium-to-large in scale, with environments featuring:
- Collapsed buildings and broken walls
- Burnt-out vehicles and debris
- Narrow alleys and open plazas
The layout ensures infantry always have nearby cover, but the sheer number of hiding spots makes ambushes a constant risk. Vehicles can push through open areas, but reckless movement could lead to being surrounded by infantry fire pouring in from rooftops and windows.
Vehicle Damage Returns
One standout feature spotted in the leaked gameplay is the return of visible vehicle damage, a fan-favorite from Battlefield 4. Tanks and armored vehicles now not only lose health when attacked but also display visual damage at the points where they’ve been hit, adding another layer of immersion and tactical awareness.
Tactical Gameplay Opportunities
From what the footage shows, Sobek City seems designed to reward smart positioning and adaptability:
- Infantry must move carefully between cover, securing rooftops and stairwells for tactical advantage.
- Vehicles can dominate wider avenues and plazas, but rushing in without infantry support risks flanking and destruction.
This makes Sobek City a map where teamwork and coordination will be critical to success.
Battlefield 6 Release Date
Battlefield 6 is set to launch on October 10, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. While Sobek City is still unfinished in the leaked footage, it already shows the potential to be one of the standout maps when the game officially launches.
The Battlefield 6 Sobek City map leak offers an exciting first look at a desert-urban hybrid environment that promises intense infantry skirmishes and high-stakes vehicle battles. If refined further before release, Sobek City could become a fan-favorite map right out of the gate.
