Released on September 4, Epic Games introduced a Doom-themed Battle Pass with 12 rewards for players to earn. To unlock them all, players must complete various challenges, some easier than others.
One quest from the second page of Doom tasks involves opening five rare chests, which are notably harder to find than regular chests. Rare chests are distinguished by their shiny blue design, and unlike the standard gold chests, their locations are random, making them tough to track down.
In Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 4, rare chests are most likely to appear in locations like Doomstadt, Castle Doom, and The Raft. However, these areas are highly contested, with dozens of players rushing to them at the start of each match.
Your best chance of finding rare chests is by waiting for Weapons Bunkers to open, as these always contain at least two rare chests. There are nine bunker locations across the map, though not all of them are open each match, as some remain locked randomly. Fortunately, players receive alerts when a nearby bunker is about to open.
Fortnite players have until Saturday, November 2, to complete all 12 Doom quests, giving them plenty of time to find five rare chests. For those still working through the Battle Pass, learning how to survive fire damage and unlock the Doctor Doom skins will also prove helpful.
